Grovy breaks ground on Ramada Residences at Dubai Islands, Jaseera appointed

Grovy Developers has broken ground on Ramada Residences by Wyndham at Dubai Islands and has appointed Jaseera Building Contracting as main contractor. The developer says enabling works are complete and structural works are under way. The project is being developed with Wyndham Hotels and Resorts and with USquare Luxe Properties, the landowner and development partner. No contract value or unit count is published.
What has been announced
The start on site marks the beginning of main construction on the branded residences, which the developer describes as boutique. It follows the signing of the agreement with Wyndham and the unveiling of the project's show apartment earlier this year. With the enabling works finished and the structure now rising, the developer describes the scheme as having reached a defined stage of construction.
Jaseera Building Contracting, the main contractor, was established in 2018 and is based in Dubai. The developer describes its work as spanning civil, structural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing, and fit-out, across residential, commercial and industrial developments in the UAE. Jaseera will oversee the development through to completion and is to deliver it to the specifications and quality standards agreed with Wyndham Hotels and Resorts.
What the developer said
Grovy Developers chief executive Abhishek Jalan said: "Breaking ground is the point at which commitments become physical. When we signed with Wyndham, we committed to delivering the project to a high standard, and today, the development is progressing well against that commitment."
On the contractor appointment he said: "Appointing Jaseera Building Contracting gives us a delivery partner with the capacity and the site experience to hold that schedule, and we will be measuring progress against it every month."
He added: "Grovy has built its reputation in the UAE since 2015 on delivering what we commit to, and our completed projects in Jumeirah Village Circle are the evidence of that. We are applying the same discipline to Ramada Residences. Our ambition is to create homes that deliver value beyond the physical asset."
The parties
Three parties are named on the development side. Grovy Developers is the developer, which says it has operated in the UAE since 2015 and has completed projects in Jumeirah Village Circle. Wyndham Hotels and Resorts is the brand partner whose Ramada name the residences carry. USquare Luxe Properties is described as the landowner and development partner. Jaseera Building Contracting is the main contractor.
What is not published. The announcement gives no contract value for the main construction works, no number of residences, no floor area and no completion date. It does not state the terms of the agreement with Wyndham or the commercial arrangement with the landowner. The developer's statement that progress will be measured monthly against the schedule does not say what that schedule is.
