About SCCSI
The Society of Construction Claims Specialists International is an international professional association for people who prepare, defend and determine construction claims.
This website is its practitioner resource: reported judgments read and written up, solutions to 250+ legal/contractual issues, FIDIC clause by clause guidance, calculators, and CPD.
What the Society does
SCCSI certifies and trains professionals working in construction, real estate, and oil and gas. Its programmes cover contract administration under the FIDIC forms, construction claims and quantum, delay analysis, and construction contract management. Alongside them it maintains a professional network for people doing this work across different markets and different standard forms.
What this website is for
Claims work is done under time pressure, against a contract someone else drafted, on records that are never quite complete. The material here is built for that. Every case note is written from the judgment rather than from a summary of it. Every clause guide states the edition it belongs to. Every calculator shows the method it used. Where a point cannot be verified, it is left out rather than dressed up.

Who it is for
Quantity surveyors, claims consultants, delay analysts, contract administrators, project and commercial managers, engineers, adjudicators, arbitrators and construction lawyers. It assumes the reader knows the industry and does not explain what a variation is.
How the material is prepared
Case commentary is written from the judgment itself and checked against the official record. Clause guidance is written against the wording of the stated edition. Figures in the calculators are verified against worked examples before a tool is published. Where a case cannot be traced to an official record, it is removed rather than qualified. This is the standard the certification programmes are held to, applied to what is published here.
Members enrolled on an SCCSI certification programme have access to the membership material for the length of their studies. Details of the programmes are at sccsinternational.org.
