A Dubai developer passes 50,000 home handovers and awards Dh10 billion of construction contracts in six months

Damac Properties says it has handed over more than 50,000 homes, is targeting more than 8,800 further handovers in 2026, and awarded more than Dh10 billion of construction contracts in the first half of the year. About 6,300 of this year's handovers sit in one community, Damac Lagoons, against about 513 there in 2025.
Damac Properties, the Dubai developer founded in 2002, said on 1 September 2026 that it has handed over more than 50,000 homes and is targeting more than 8,800 further handovers this year. The company expanded on the announcement on 4 September 2026, putting the construction contracts awarded during the first half of the year at more than Dh10 billion, or 2.72 billion dollars, and its pipeline at more than 55,000 units across more than 100 million square feet of project area in planning and development.
The 2026 handovers are spread across Damac Lagoons, Damac Hills, Damac Hills 2, Chic Tower in Business Bay and Elegance Tower in Downtown Dubai. The company says it will concentrate on completing this year's programme while mobilising the newly awarded construction packages, which it describes as the base for deliveries in 2027 and beyond.
One community carries most of the year
Damac Lagoons is the largest component of the programme, with about 6,300 homes targeted for handover in 2026 against about 513 in 2025. The developer says infrastructure, landscaping and associated works there have passed 80 per cent completion, and that the community's water bodies extend to about 177,000 square metres, which it equates to around 141 Olympic-size swimming pools, commissioned in phases alongside the residential and infrastructure works.
At Damac Hills about 85 per cent of the community has been completed and handed over, with about Dh3 billion of active projects remaining across villas and towers. At Damac Hills 2, a 55 million square foot community with around 11,000 completed homes, more than 1,500 villas are due to be handed over during 2026. The two towers extend the programme into the company's high-rise portfolio.

How the developer says it controls the programme
The company attributes its ability to meet the handover targets to strategic contractor appointments, early procurement, bulk sourcing and technology-enabled project oversight. It says monthly quality and safety assessments measure project and contractor performance against defined benchmarks, supported by site inspections and corrective action plans where they are needed.

The announcement lands in a year of rising completions across the emirate. The developer cites figures showing nearly 25,000 new homes completed in Dubai in the first half of 2026, a 36 per cent increase on the same period of 2025, with more than 13,200 units delivered in the second quarter alone and around 32,000 further units expected in the second half of the year. On those numbers, the constraint in the market is moving from sales to construction capacity and contractor performance, which is where a Dh10 billion award programme in six months has to be read.
What has not been stated
The company has not named the contractors appointed under the first-half awards, the value of any individual package, or the forms of contract used. It has not given the split of the 8,800 handovers between the communities other than Lagoons and Hills 2, the completion dates for either tower, or the number of homes handed over so far in 2026. The Dh3 billion of active projects at Damac Hills is stated as a total without a breakdown. None of those points can be filled in from the two announcements, so they are left open here.
