The role oversees and manages the planning and scheduling of engineering projects: developing detailed project schedules, coordinating with the other departments and monitoring progress so that projects finish on time and within budget. The holder analyses project requirements, allocates resources, identifies the risks that could delay a project and keeps stakeholders informed. The responsibilities listed include building and maintaining schedules that carry every task, milestone and deliverable, gathering requirements and priorities from project managers and engineers, monitoring progress against the schedule and putting corrective action in place where it slips, running status meetings, analysing performance data for trends and areas of concern, working with procurement and supply chain teams on the delivery of materials, preparing reports, and mentoring junior planning engineers. UCC asks for engineering fundamentals, a grounding in the principles of planning and in research and data collection, familiarity with planning software including advanced Primavera P6, knowledge of local and international construction standards, and ERP knowledge, preferably SAP, which the advert states is a requirement. The minimum experience is eight years, five of them relevant, with two years in the GCC a plus.
