What the role covers

This director role leads commercial strategy and governance for major development, construction, infrastructure and real estate programmes. The post oversees commercial planning, contract management, claims management and financial performance across the portfolio.

Responsibilities include:

• commercial strategy
• cost management
• contract administration
• pre-contract and post-contract activities
• commercial negotiations
• the management of change, claims and dispute resolution

The director monitors financial forecasts, budgets, commitments and cost reporting, works with development, project delivery, finance, procurement, legal and project controls teams, and leads commercial teams. The post sits in Qiddiya Master Development, deals externally with contractors, consultants, suppliers, investors and government authorities, and leads value engineering and cost optimisation work.

The role requires more than fifteen years' experience in commercial management, quantity surveying, construction, infrastructure or real estate development. Qiddiya states that applicants should have led commercial functions on large-scale construction, infrastructure, mixed-use, hospitality, entertainment or mega-development projects, and managed complex contracts, commercial negotiations, claims and dispute resolution. A master's degree and professional certification, including MRICS, FRICS, CCM, PMP or MBA, are preferred.
