Turner and Townsend is looking for a Senior Cost Manager to act as the day to day client contact on industrial and manufacturing construction work out of Charlotte, North Carolina. The posting describes the post as client facing and asks for someone able to work independently as well as within a team, providing leadership and direction on the account. The holder estimates and negotiates change orders across a complex multi package construction programme, produces and presents final cost plans for large industrial facilities, and reconciles design and scope changes while checking the accuracy of contractor data across several workstreams. Cost estimates are developed and validated with design teams and general contractors. Progress is gathered directly from contractors and project stakeholders so that forecasts stay current, and written commentary and executive summaries on contractor submissions form part of the monthly reporting. Cost data is coordinated from contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and design teams, and fed back into engineering and design decisions. Turner and Townsend asks for a degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering or a related field, and five to seven years in cost management, quantity surveying or project controls within construction. Experience of large and complex industrial or infrastructure projects is required and consultancy experience is preferred. RICS accreditation, or work towards it, is preferred.
