What the role covers

Power International Holding is recruiting a Senior Contracts Manager to lead contract execution and to manage the group's contractual relationships with suppliers of goods and services and with internal customers. The role covers negotiating and finalising contract terms, overseeing the administration of contracts so that their terms and conditions are complied with, and identifying risks to contract performance before they turn into problems.

The postholder will handle contract-related disputes and claims, with the aim of resolving them while limiting the effect on project delivery. Other duties include monitoring contract budgets and cost control within the scope of each agreement, tracking performance against contractual deliverables, keeping complete records of contract documents, amendments and correspondence, and developing the procedures used for contract management.

Regular contact with clients, contractors and internal teams on contractual issues is part of the work, and the role supports HSE initiatives and incident reporting. The advert asks for knowledge of contract and tender requirements under all types of conditions of contract, detailed knowledge of FIDIC contracts and a working knowledge of Qatar Construction Standards. SAP or other ERP experience is required.

Candidates need at least eight years' experience, five of them in a supervisory position, with GCC experience counted as an advantage. The stated education is a degree in civil engineering or engineering, together with a FIDIC certification or chartered membership of a professional body such as the CIOB or RICS.
