What the role covers
A senior contracts and commercial post on a mixed-use development combining residential, commercial, hospitality, leisure and public realm elements, delivered by an integrated multidisciplinary team. The holder prepares and administers contracts, warranties, bonds and licences and sees them through formal execution and compliance. Teams and cost consultants are led from this post, with behaviours driven towards the agreed indicators and towards continuous improvement. Valuations, variations, cost control and reporting are managed so that financial integrity holds through the project lifecycle. The evaluation of claims, contract completion and the certification processes are overseen by the holder, who is expected to secure fair resolution and client satisfaction. Improvements in systems and processes are delivered from the post, applying good practice and the lessons already learned. The net zero carbon transition and the identification and management of the associated emissions are carried through the delivery work. The employer asks for a degree in quantity surveying, commercial management or cost management, or the equivalent, and professional membership of the RICS. Long experience of administering contracts, of managing claims, and of running large and complex infrastructure and building projects commercially is required, with a minimum of twenty years of professional experience of which at least seven are in Saudi Arabia.
