A senior commercial and contractual role on a multi package development in Abu Dhabi comprising major infrastructure works and mixed use buildings for a developer client. The holder sits in the project management consultancy and construction management team and reports to the programme commercial director, leading the commercial and contractual performance of supervision consultants and contractors. Duties stated in the posting are leading the project's commercial strategy, policies and procedures, identifying and mitigating risk, maintaining commercial reporting systems, and preparing and presenting commercial and financial reports to senior client representatives. Advice is given to consultancy leadership and to the client's executive team on commercial, contractual and financial matters. The role administers all project contracts, including the client to project management consultant, client to contractor and client to supervision consultant agreements, interprets and manages the contract conditions, and sees that notices and formal correspondence comply with them. Payment and certification are overseen, with contractor and consultant applications evaluated and processed to time. The holder leads the review, valuation and negotiation of variations, change orders and instructions on the client's behalf, and runs a claims strategy directed at prevention, early intervention and efficient resolution, assessing contractor and consultant claims for extension of time and additional cost and making recommendations on them. A degree in quantity surveying or construction management is sought.
