What the role covers

Hill International is recruiting a Quantity Surveyor in Abu Dhabi to manage project cost, budgeting, cost control, variations, claims and contract administration so that projects are delivered inside their approved financial limits. The holder reviews cost estimates submitted by the design consultant and the contractor and checks them against the agreement, the contract drawings and the specification. Bills of quantities prepared by consultants and contractors are reviewed for compliance with drawings and specification. Project control budgets are verified and updated for management approval, and forecasts of final cost are prepared and reviewed with commitments taken into account. The holder certifies progress payments and final accounts with the project team, and reviews change requests, contract trend notices, variation orders and claims. Final cost reports, asset registers and project closeout reports are checked against contract requirements. The employer asks for a degree in engineering or quantity surveying, at least twelve years of relevant experience, and an understanding of cost and of FIDIC. Chartered quantity surveyor status is preferred rather than required. Strong written and spoken English is specified, along with the ability to build working relationships with clients and their agents. No salary is published and no closing date is given.
