Graham Group is recruiting a Quantity Surveyor to lead the commercial activities on a group of facilities management contracts in the London region. The work sits in the commercial team supporting a contract in the government and education sectors, with operational teams delivering planned and reactive maintenance and minor and major works across several contracts. The base is Greater London, mainly north London, with occasional travel to west London and to other sites as the contracts require. Hours are 40 a week, Monday to Friday, and the post is permanent and full time. The duties named in the advert are commercial ones: timely submission of account applications, preparation of contract interim valuations and of variation claims, interim cost reporting including profit and loss, anticipated final costs against final forecast recovery, commercial pricing and tender input on minor and major works, payment of subcontractor accounts, issue of subcontract documents, keeping the request for information and confirmation of instruction schedules current with the contract managers, reporting buying gains and losses and any future financial problems, negotiating rates with subcontractors, preparing and updating cashflow and expenditure profiles, and managing work in progress against sales revenue and profit targets. Graham Group asks for up to three years in a quantity surveying role, particularly on hard facilities management maintenance contracts, a sound knowledge of commercial and contractual issues in facilities management and of NEC4, experience of NSR and BCIS schedules, an HNC or similar third level qualification, and a full UK driving licence.
