What the role covers
Designer Group is recruiting a Project Planner in Dublin for its energy infrastructure work. The post is on site, and the posting asks for proven planning experience on substations, transmission and distribution, renewable energy or other utility-scale electrical projects. The planner runs the planning and scheduling on high voltage and energy projects.
Programmes are built and kept up to date in Primavera P6, resource-loaded and prepared in line with the project and contract requirements, and they cover design, procurement, construction, testing and commissioning, including EPC schedules for HV substations and grid work.
The post holder tracks schedule performance, picks out critical path activities, constraints and risks and recommends corrective action, and carries out schedule risk analysis, what-if scenarios and time impact assessments. Baseline, recovery and revised programmes are prepared as needed, and site visits are used to check progress against the programme.
The role also supports tendering and pre-construction sequencing, contributes to budgets, cost control and earned value reporting, and issues weekly and monthly reports to the team and the client.
Applicants need a degree in engineering, construction management, project management, quantity surveying or a related subject and three to five years in a planning role in the energy, utilities or high voltage sectors, with advanced P6 skills. Experience of delay analysis and recovery programmes is asked for, and knowledge of NEC, FIDIC or similar contract forms is desirable.
No salary figure or closing date is published.
