What the role covers

AFRY's Process Industries Division is recruiting an experienced Project Planner for its project controls team in Vantaa, Finland. Full professional Finnish and English are required. The planner develops and maintains schedules on a range of projects, from the sales proposal stage through to execution, working alongside project management.

The work typically covers setting up schedule development, control and progress reporting; building the baseline schedule with the project team; tracking progress on deliverables, calculating it and forecasting ahead; reporting schedule status and deviations; and identifying critical timelines while managing the scheduling process. The planner deals directly with the project team, the customer's representatives and other parties.

The division wants a degree in a relevant engineering field, a good command of MS Project and Primavera, and experience of planning industrial projects across engineering, procurement and construction.

It also values the ability to build schedules from first principles and to integrate contractors' schedules, to read a schedule for bottlenecks and advise the project team, and direct experience of execution scheduling on a construction site. Leadership and communication skills, familiarity with data analytics and visualisation tools, and readiness to travel and relocate are also listed.
