What the role covers

Hill International is recruiting a Planning Manager in Abu Dhabi to develop, manage and control the project schedule and to keep delivery in line with the client's requirements. Part of the work will interest anyone doing delay analysis for a living. The holder reviews and comments on the contractor's baseline schedule, monitors actual construction progress against the approved schedule, and reports where manpower or equipment is short. Recovery schedules submitted by contractors are examined in detail. Any claim involving time impact submitted by the contractor is reviewed and assessed, with the assessment reported to the controls manager, and field design changes and trend notices are examined for their effect on time. The holder visits sites to check that progress matches the approved schedule and that milestones have been met, reviews the contractor's daily, weekly and monthly reports for non-compliance, and warns the construction manager of foreseeable slippage together with the corrective action to be taken. Attendance at weekly progress and monthly executive meetings is required, as is help in preparing monthly progress reports. The employer asks for an engineering degree and twelve to fifteen years of planning experience on similar projects, with fluency in Primavera and Microsoft Project. No salary is published.
