EllisDon is recruiting a planning and scheduling manager to lead other schedulers across its project portfolio, on work the posting describes as high rise, hospital and public transit. The role starts before a project does. It leads the planning and schedule preparation during pursuits and answers RFP documents on complex procurement routes, naming P3, DBFM, design and build, and construction management. Preliminary master schedules and proposals are prepared for operations before the project begins, setting out the sequence of the whole of the work and testing whether the programme is realistic as well as competitive. Once the project is running, the manager evaluates construction progress, issues updates every two weeks or every month, and reports on the health of the schedule. Maintaining the integrity of each master schedule is stated as a duty in its own right, together with identifying and recording the impact of the work as it is performed and keeping the project schedule log. Cost sits beside time here: total job cost is projected by comparing the estimate in the baseline schedule with actual cost and performance after an update.
