What the role covers
Hill International is recruiting a Lead Planner for a closeout portfolio in Saudi Arabia, on an assignment running to the end of 2026 with the possibility of extension. The posting places the role at portfolio level rather than on a single contract: the planner sets the reporting cycle, fixes the planning standards, the coding requirements and the schedule templates, and then builds and maintains the integrated schedules for demobilisation, preservation and closeout. Much of the work is analytical. The posting asks for critical path analysis, float analysis and schedule health assessments, for forecasts covering milestones, activities and closure dates, and for contractor updates to be assessed for accuracy, logic and reported progress before they are accepted. Individual contract programmes are then consolidated into one portfolio view so that cross-contract dependencies, slippage and constraints can be seen against the closeout objectives. The point that will interest claims practitioners is stated plainly in the advert: the planner provides schedule substantiation for claims, disputes and final account reviews. Hill asks for at least twenty years in planning and scheduling, ten of them on major projects in Saudi Arabia or the wider Gulf, and experience of multi-billion riyal portfolios carrying a high volume of contracts. A degree in engineering or construction management is required and PMP, PMI-SP, PSP or AACE certification is preferred. Primavera P6 is mandatory. Forensic planning and delay analysis experience is listed as desirable.
