UCC Services, recruiting through the Power International Holding careers board, is seeking a Lead Cost Control Engineer in Qatar. The advert, dated 3 September 2026, describes a role that manages project expenditure across the construction lifecycle against the approved budget: developing the cost control procedures and systems, agreeing budgets, forecasts and expenditure plans with project managers, and carrying out detailed cost estimation and analysis for project components, materials, labour and overheads. The holder tracks costs against budget, identifies variances and trends, and prepares the regular cost reports and presentations for project stakeholders. Contractor and vendor invoices are reviewed for accuracy against contract terms and pricing, and change orders and variations are evaluated for their effect on cost and time and negotiated with the parties as necessary. Value engineering and other cost saving initiatives sit with the role, together with advice to project teams on cost related matters and a watch on market prices and regulatory changes that could move project costs. UCC asks for financial analysis skill, familiarity with cost control tools such as Primavera and Procore, knowledge of contract management principles including the review of contracts, change orders and vendor agreements and the resolution of cost disputes, and SAP functional skills. The minimum is eight years of experience with five of them relevant, and Gulf experience is a plus. A bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field is required.
