What the role covers

A director level appointment in the employer's construction delay practice, based at its Atlanta office in Colony Square. The work is forensic and dispute facing throughout. The successful applicant will review construction schedules, drawings, correspondence, reports, weather records and financial data to establish the details on which expert reports are built, and will develop a working command of the record in large construction disputes. The role carries the quantification of delay and damages: applying analytical methods to substantial project datasets to calculate schedule delay and cost overrun, then drafting expert reports that turn that technical material into a narrative fit for the court or tribunal that will receive it. Economic modelling of lost profit arising from delay and cost overrun sits alongside it. Beyond the analysis, the appointment carries management of smaller engagements or discrete parts of larger ones, supervision of junior staff, client contact, and a part in proposals, presentations and case strategy alongside the testifying experts. The employer asks for a degree in building construction or engineering, a construction law qualification preferred, at least ten years in construction project management, scheduling or cost control, and at least three years leading cases in a dispute consultancy. Primavera P3 and P6, MS Project and Suretrak are named, as is familiarity with static delay analysis. Applicants must already be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship. Travel is generally under 20 per cent.
