What the role covers

Turner and Townsend is recruiting a Cost Manager to lead procurement and cost management across several projects from Gurugram, released on its board on 8 September 2026. The advert describes the holder as responsible for procurement strategy, sourcing and contract negotiation, cost optimisation and commercial value through the project lifecycle. Under procurement strategy and leadership, the role develops and implements strategies aligned with project and business objectives, leads vendor prequalification, tendering, bid analysis, negotiation and contract award recommendations, and sets up category management and strategic sourcing. Under cost management and commercial control, it leads cost planning, budgeting and forecasting, runs market analysis, benchmarking and value engineering, monitors expenditure against budgets and prepares cost reports and commercial insight for senior management. Under contract and vendor management, it leads commercial negotiations with suppliers, vendors and subcontractors, reviews procurement contracts so that commercial risk is mitigated, and oversees contract performance, claims, variations, renewals and closeout. Risk identification, compliance, audit support and the mentoring of junior staff complete the list. The firm asks for a bachelor's degree in quantity surveying, engineering, construction management, supply chain, procurement, finance or a related field, with a master's degree or MBA an advantage and MRICS, MCIPS, PMP, CCM or equivalent preferred. Eight to ten years of progressive experience are required, with proven management of large procurement packages and supplier negotiations and strong exposure to contract management and commercial risk assessment. The post is full time. No salary and no closing date are published.
