Vision Built, the modern methods of construction business within the Sisk group, is recruiting a Contracts Manager. Read the advert before the title: unlike the group's other contracts manager vacancies, which are site delivery posts, this one is commercial and contractual. It gives strategic oversight of contractual risk, procurement, cost control and commercial performance from pre-construction to final account on residential, commercial and mixed use projects, working to the Project Director, the Construction Director and the commercial teams. The duties named are leading the commercial strategy from tender handover to final account and close-out, running procurement including subcontractor selection, contract negotiation and package placement, identifying, mitigating and reporting cost, programme and contractual exposure, leading cost control, forecasting, valuations, change management and final account negotiation, reviewing and managing contractual correspondence, variations, claims, extensions of time and dispute avoidance, keeping change control applied consistently across projects, reporting cost and value reconciliation and risk registers, and mentoring quantity surveyors. Sisk asks for experience as a contracts or senior contracts manager in a tier one or large tier two contractor, a background on large residential, commercial or mixed use building projects, experience of multiple subcontract packages and complex commercial interfaces, an understanding of the RIAI, JCT and NEC forms or their equivalents, and a degree in quantity surveying, construction economics or construction management, with SCSI or RICS membership held or in progress.
