The role manages every aspect of the commercial and contractual arrangements between the company and its customers, suppliers and partners, working with sales, legal, finance and operations to negotiate and manage contracts and to keep the business compliant with its contractual obligations. The holder develops and monitors commercial and contractual strategies, negotiates, reviews and drafts contracts, identifies risks and opportunities in them, and acts as the main point of contact on commercial matters. Reporting on contractual and commercial performance against key indicators sits with the role, as does work with the finance team on invoicing and payment and on the management of disputes and claims arising under the contracts. The contract database, training of internal staff on contract and commercial matters, and support to business development, including proposals and business cases, complete the list. UCC asks for an extensive background in commercial and contracts management, advanced people management, communication, delegation and strategic planning skills, and ERP knowledge, preferably SAP, which the advert states is a requirement. The minimum experience is eight years, five of them in a relevant supervisory position, with two years in the GCC a plus.
