What the role covers

BESIX Watpac, the Australian arm of BESIX, is recruiting contracts administrators in Adelaide for its South Australian team on large scale projects. The work is subcontract package management from tender to final account. The holder compiles and approves tender documentation and the proposed tender list, issues documents, receives and compares tenders, and puts tender recommendations forward for approval. Contract documents are then prepared for each trade package. With the project manager, the holder assists in administering those subcontract packages, which takes in progress claims, variation claims and the other financial matters arising on the project, and contributes to monthly consolidated reporting on cash and cost. Safety duties under South Australian occupational health and safety legislation form part of the role. The employer asks for a degree in quantity surveying or construction management, or relevant experience in place of one, and demonstrated experience in a similar post within building construction. Autonomy, sound reasoning and the ability to work to shifting priorities are specified. The advertised package includes three additional wellbeing leave days a year.
