A commercial leadership post on a large digital infrastructure programme in the region, delivered alongside a developer in the data centre sector, where the employer is applying programme, project and commercial management to a mission critical environment with heavy design coordination and fast delivery. The holder directs the drafting and formal execution of the contract papers, warranties, bonds and licences among them, and checks compliance with the contractual and approval requirements. Large teams of direct reports are managed from this post, with performance measured against agreed indicators. The holder drives accurate measurement of valuations so that cost control and financial reporting hold, and directs the preparation and presentation of the monthly post-contract cost reports to the client. Cost impacts arising from design changes, contract awards, construction activity and client instructions are identified and managed before they run. Assessing and determining claims from contractors and their subcontractors for delay and additional cost is overseen from the post, and the holder signs off practical completion, the making good of defects and final completion by certificate so that the final account can be agreed. Cost consultants are led on process and system improvement, with carbon reduction carried through the work. The employer asks for a degree in quantity surveying or cost management, professional membership such as MRICS, bidding and business development experience, and commercial and financial judgement.
