Hill International is recruiting a Cost Engineer in Seattle, Washington, requisition 14912. The post monitors project budgets and reviews and analyses subcontractor invoices, then prepares job costing reports allocating that expenditure against the appropriate work breakdown structure numbers. Cost to complete analysis is carried out across every cost element, taking account of staffing plans, contract commitments, expenditure to date, change orders and trends. The role attends project meetings to give project management current financial information and the trend log affecting budget and forecast, and produces progress reporting documents and briefing material. It reviews task orders for contractors and subconsultants to confirm that budget or contract capacity exists, analyses bid award values and change orders against the current budget, and prepares the reconciliations that feed the forecast at completion. Contract commitments are updated, actual expenditure reconciled and analysed, budget transfers performed and the work breakdown structure kept intact. Hill asks for a bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management or a related field and five years or more of cost engineering on construction projects, rail or transit work preferred, with demonstrated experience reporting the cost components of large and complex projects.
