What the role covers

A senior planning post inside Hill International's project management consultancy team in Doha, covering design, procurement, construction, testing and handover. The holder leads the preparation of construction and procurement schedules, reviews schedule trends to find problem areas and recommends corrective action to management, and manages the resolution of variance reports on scheduling and cost. The posting puts contract work in the job itself: reviewing contract documents and suggesting changes to their planning, cost and programming provisions, including the addition of new clauses where needed. The holder develops the monitoring and reporting system for management and for the Engineer's review, manages the consultant's programme control reporting to the Engineer each month, and monitors design performance against the design programme so that design programmes feed into the project and programme master schedules. Risk assessment and mitigation plans are prepared from this post, and the holder assists in commercial and technical evaluation during consultant selection. Hill asks for a degree in engineering or an equivalent field and twenty years of post-graduate experience, of which at least twelve are with a project management consultancy delivering large multidisciplinary infrastructure programmes. Project controls lead experience on deep tunnel and pumping station work is specified and marine experience is preferred. PMP or MRICS qualification is required. No salary is published.
