What the role covers

The cost management division in Spain is adding a cost manager in Pamplona to work on large pharmaceutical projects. The posting sets out pre and post contract duties together: cost estimates, procurement and tendering, contract administration, variations and final accounts. On the pre-contract side it names estimating and cost planning through to producing and presenting the final cost plan, and a tender and procurement cycle covering pre-qualification, the tender list, preliminaries, tender analysis, the tender report and compilation of the contract documents. After contract the holder is responsible for timely and accurate cost checks and valuations, monthly cost reports presented to the client, participation in post-contract cost variances and the change control process, cost risk analysis, input into value engineering, and the negotiation and approval of final accounts. Two conditions are stated plainly and a candidate should read them before applying: the position requires attendance on site five days a week in Pamplona, and the employer asks for fluent Spanish alongside business level English.
