Turner and Townsend is recruiting at associate director level for a lead commercial role on a London infrastructure project, and the posting casts the holder as the commission manager with end to end responsibility for service delivery. The pre-contract work named is feasibility study and procurement report writing, value management at the outset, estimating and cost planning through to ownership and presentation of the final cost plan, and the procurement process from pre-qualification and enquiry through analysis, selection and contract preparation. The holder leads the interface with the client and the other consultants at every project stage and, where the commission calls for it, leads a cost management team, with input into the formal management of senior and assistant cost managers. Business development runs alongside delivery: opportunities with existing and new clients, cross-selling, and bids built with the directors. The employer asks for proven cost, quantity surveying or commercial management experience, preferably MRICS, NEC3 contracts and Option C target cost in particular, post-contract administration, and experience of major programmes in rail, aviation, water and utilities or highways.
