What the role covers

Aramco is recruiting an Estimating Engineer to prepare and review cost estimates for capital projects. The role covers conceptual, preliminary and detailed design stages, with estimates based on contract bids, quotations, drawings and specifications. The engineer will calculate probable material, labour, equipment and subcontract costs, review material take-offs against issued-for-bid drawings, and assess project specifications, execution strategy and site conditions. The work also includes direct and indirect construction costs, vendor quotations, market data and internal pricing records. The successful candidate will assemble estimate packages containing scope documents, drawings, material take-offs, quotations and risk registers. Other duties include identifying cost risks, recommending contingency allowances, producing cost reports, tracking budget performance and forecasting final execution costs. The posting asks for an engineering degree and 20 years of cost-estimating experience in oil and gas, energy or industrial work. Experience must include conceptual through detailed estimates.
