What the role covers

A senior commercial post with the project services arm of a worldwide consultancy, based from its Chorley office and serving clients across the United Kingdom. The work is commercial management and contract services on major infrastructure programmes in the energy, transport and water sectors, delivered alongside client project teams on a hybrid week of typically three days on projects or at client offices and two at home. The duties run across the project lifecycle: pre and post contract commercial support and contract administration, the preparation and management of cost estimates, budgets and financial reports, and the monitoring, forecasting and reporting of project cost and programme performance. The contract work is NEC. The posting names support for the administration of NEC contracts with commercial assurance and compliance, and the management of contract change with risk and value managed through it. Accounts are to be agreed and closed in accordance with the contract terms, cost variance monitored proactively, and clients, contractors and other stakeholders kept informed throughout delivery. A recognised degree in quantity surveying is required and professional accreditation with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors is preferred.
