What the role covers

A senior contracts post with one of Egypt's largest construction and engineering groups, based in Cairo. The role runs contract administration across live projects: monitoring compliance, controlling client correspondence, and keeping the administration of each contract in line with the project's requirements. Claims work sits at its centre. The holder manages risk assessments, supports claim resolution procedures, prepares statements of claim and of defence, and meets clients, contractors and partners to resolve outstanding disputes amicably and under the contract conditions. Contract drafts and other project-specific agreements are reviewed to protect the company's interests, and a contract synopsis is prepared for each project team so that delivery staff understand the obligations they carry. The employer asks for an engineering degree, nine to twelve years of experience, and at least the Contractual and Legal Aspects of the Construction Industry qualification. Familiarity with the Egyptian Civil Code and Administrative Law 182 of 2018 is required, together with the general features of the laws of England and Wales and sound legal drafting technique.
