What the role covers

AECOM is seeking a Contracts Administrator for a project management consultancy role on major rail and infrastructure work in Abu Dhabi. The administrator supports contract and commercial management across the project lifecycle, with contract administration, contractual compliance and commercial governance at the centre of the job. The posting asks for practical experience administering FIDIC contracts, including support for the assessment and administration of variations, claims, extension of time submissions and contractual notices. Day-to-day duties include maintaining contract records, correspondence and registers, monitoring obligations, deliverables and milestones, identifying contractual and commercial risks, and coordinating with commercial, legal, engineering and delivery teams. The administrator also prepares commercial reports, contract status updates and management summaries, and keeps contractual documentation traceable for audit. Applicants need a bachelor's degree in quantity surveying and eight to twelve years of experience in contract administration, quantity surveying or commercial management on major infrastructure projects, with rail, metro or other large transportation work expected. AECOM asks for commercial and contractual judgement, the ability to interpret contract provisions and identify risk, and states that Middle East experience, particularly in the UAE, is an advantage.
