What the role covers

The senior quantity surveyor manages cost and contractual work for landscape projects from project inception to completion. The role prepares and reviews bills of quantities, cost estimates, tender documents, valuations and variation orders. It carries out quantity take-offs from drawings and site measurements, and manages interim valuations, payment applications and certification processes.

The post evaluates variations, claims and contractual correspondence. It monitors project costs against budgets and prepares cost reports and forecasts. The surveyor supports procurement through cost comparisons and the evaluation of supplier and subcontractor quotations.

Duties also include:

• measuring and valuing works under contract conditions and industry standards
• resolving commercial and contractual issues with project managers
• consultants and site teams
• supporting contract administration and risk identification

The role monitors subcontractor payments and final accounts, takes part in negotiations, and maintains commercial and contractual records. Innovo asks for a degree in quantity surveying, civil engineering, construction management or a related field and seven or more years of experience, and prefers exposure to infrastructure or landscape projects. AutoCAD and CostX are mandatory.
