Refund and Access Policy

This policy explains when access to paid material begins, and how SCCSI deals with a request for a refund. It applies to membership and to other digital access bought through this website.

When access begins

Membership and other digital access are supplied immediately. Access is opened as soon as payment is confirmed, and the material becomes available through the account from that moment. There is nothing to ship and nothing to return.

If the wrong level was bought

A reader who has taken the wrong membership level, or bought access to the wrong material, should say so. SCCSI will move the account to the correct route and settle any difference in price, and will not treat an honest mistake as a refund question.

Refund requests

A refund request is considered on its own facts, promptly, and in a way SCCSI can explain. What is taken into account:

• What was bought, and what the account was actually given access to.
• Whether access had been opened, and how much of the material had been used.
• Whether the request follows an error in payment, in the account, or in what was described at the point of purchase.
• Any written offer, concession or promotion attached to the purchase.

Where a refund is agreed, it is returned through the route the payment came in by, wherever that route allows it.

Statutory rights

Nothing in this policy removes a right a buyer has under the law that applies to them. Where a consumer has a statutory right to cancel a purchase of digital content, that right stands, on the terms the law gives it, whatever this policy says.

Renewals

Membership that renews automatically will say so at the point of purchase, and the renewal date and amount will be shown in the account. A renewal can be stopped from the account at any time before the renewal date falls due.

Access problems

A reader who has paid and cannot reach the material should treat that as a support question rather than a refund question. It is usually an account or level setting and is corrected quickly. Quoting the name and email address used for the purchase is what makes that fast.
