UCC Concessions for Investments, part of UCC Holding, is recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor in Jordan for the cost aspects of civil and building works from inception to final account. The advert puts subcontract commercial administration at the centre of the job: placing subcontracts on standard approved terms, checking that subcontractor interim applications arrive on time and are carried into the applications made to the employer, and certifying subcontractor payments at no more than the value applied for or certified by the client. The holder manages client site instructions and variation orders, ensures payment applications are submitted by the due date, and prepares cash flow and budget forecasts monitored at least monthly. Contractual correspondence and the backup documentation justifying client instructions and interim valuations sit with the role, as do monthly cost value reconciliations, cost to complete reports and profitability projections, each due a week after the valuation submission. Scope changes must be covered by signed variation orders back to back with the main contract. UCC asks for experience of computer based quantification such as CCS Candy, take-off from AutoCAD, and bills of quantities prepared under a standard method of measurement, naming the Principles of Measurement International 1979, NRM2, CESMM3, QSSM, QCS and FIDIC. SAP is preferred. The minimum is eight years of work experience with five of them relevant, and Gulf experience is treated as an advantage. A degree in civil engineering or engineering is required, with a professional quantity surveying qualification or a related field.
