What the role covers

A senior contracts post on a port and industrial infrastructure programme, covering a bulk cargo facility able to handle millions of tonnes a year together with marine infrastructure, landside logistics, transport links, utilities and operational facilities, with completion set for later this decade. The holder oversees the execution of and compliance with all the project contracts and supports the resident engineer as contractual correspondence to the contractors is drafted and issued. Delivery is kept to the contract terms and the agreed conditions, and the holder works closely with the resident engineer, the team leader and the client so that contract adherence is maintained across the project's activities. The net zero carbon transition and the identification and management of the associated emissions are carried through the delivery work. The employer asks for a relevant bachelor's degree, with a postgraduate qualification in contract management preferred, and progress towards chartership with a recognised professional body alongside continuing professional development. A minimum of twenty years of experience in project or contract management on major construction or infrastructure projects is required, together with proven experience of preparing contractual correspondence.
