What the role covers

A senior commercial post on a large mixed-use programme in Riyadh covering sports, entertainment and arts facilities with their supporting infrastructure, where the employer is one of the delivery partners. The holder takes a named workstream commercially, from procurement to the agreed final account. Procurement strategies, tender documentation and package recommendations are reviewed by the holder, who gives commercial oversight of the contractor procurement activity and assesses commercial risk, value engineering opportunities and gaps in scope. Contract administration support and commercial governance are managed from this post, together with the review of variations, change control and commercial reporting. Stakeholder engagement across the client, the consultants and the contractors is supported, cost management, forecasting and final account settlement are carried, and commercial managers in the wider team are mentored. The employer asks for a degree in quantity surveying or cost management or the equivalent, professional membership such as MRICS moving towards fellowship or equivalent professional development, and long experience of fit out and interior finishes, with a record of taking such packages from procurement to close-out in hospitality, premium residential, entertainment, sports venues or large commercial schemes.
