A senior quantity surveying appointment in Dublin, working for the contracting entity on a campus programme and named in the posting as responsible for cost control on its behalf. The holder manages a team of intermediate quantity surveyors, oversees their day to day cost management work on individual projects, maintains the resourcing plan for cost management delivery, and reports on the performance of the projects within the remit. The commercial duties are set out in detail: undertaking or reviewing measurement of designs and of works completed on site, developing the schedule of rates or bill of quantities, assessing materials on and off site, issuing monthly payment certificates and package final accounts, and monitoring the anticipated final project cost. Recommendations on monthly payments and final accounts are to be made so that contractual entitlement is established. The posting places the role alongside the claims, contract management and project management teams, to whom the holder provides cost advice, and requires that payments comply with the reimbursement principles in the contract. Experience sought is fifteen years or more, at least three of them in aviation or transport infrastructure, on technically complex and high value projects, gained in a consultancy, client or contractor organisation. Working knowledge of construction contract commercial documents, drawings and specifications is required, together with cost management method including the standard method of measurement.
